How To color Pettinice or Butter icing
White white:
Use 10g titanium dioxide for every 250g pettinice or butter icing
Wait 30 min after mixing and check color, add more if required
Black:
Add brown and black coloring gel or powder to make a pure black
For Black butter icing: start with a chocolate butter icing first then add black concentrated powder or gel, 10 g per kg of icing.
Wait 30-60 min to allow the pigments to dissolve in the fat of the butter icing, mixed again and check color, add more if required.
Rose red:
Red Is probably the worst color to mix , because it can go wrong in so many ways, but patience is the key so plan ahead and prepare your red icing a few days ahead.
Start with a pink base, electric pink is great. Add 2ml per kg and mix well. Leave to
Other colors:
A little goes a long way, add little bit at a time and mix in until you have the desired color
#TIP: Red & black become more intense over time, so leave your icing for a while to allow the pigments to dissolve and produce a more intense color.
